Sustainability is the mainstream of the social and economic development trend nowadays, as well as a positive consensus when mankind is facing with increasingly severe challenges on environmental problems, and economic development. With the approaching of Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the certification of ISO 20121 Event Sustainability Management Systems has become a symbol of the accreditation. Over the years, CNCC has undertaken social responsibilities and contributed for the promotion of social harmony and progress, while focusing on its own development. In the process of service support for large-scale events, CNCC has always concerned about the sustainable development, managed from economic, social and environmental perspectives, and yielded substantial results.
In early August 2018, CNCC launched the work related to the certification of sustainability management system for large-scale events officially. CNCC formulated Management Manual of Event Sustainability Management Systems of CNCC, according to ISO 20121:2012 Event sustainability management systems — Requirements with guidance for use, to clarify the action requirements and control measures of CNCC in terms of economic, environmental and social responsibilities. The Manual is used to guide the implementation of various management measures of CNCC. On November 30, 2018, CNCC passed the ISO 20121 Event Sustainability Management Systems verification audit, which made it the first exhibition venue enterprise in China who got the ISO 20121 certification.
On November 30, 2021, CNCC completed the re-certification audit of the ISO 20121 Event Sustainability Management Systems. The construction of the management system was unanimously recognized by the experts of the audit team. Experts believe that CNCC identifies issues and formulates guidelines according to the standards and requirements of ISO 20121, innovates the management mode, optimizes the organizational structure, practices according to ISO 20121, and dynamically adjusts the contents and importance level of the issues according to the changes of internal and external environment. CNCC has established a self-improvement mechanism, and implemented management review and internal audit in accordance with the standard requirements. CNCC meets the audit requirements of ISO 20121 and operates effectively.
